At the end of school year, the students from 9th Grade, are gonna be able to:

English Language Arts (ELA)

  • Enhance students' understanding of a wide range of texts. This includes different types of writing, such as stories, real-life articles, and poems.

    They focus on grasping the main ideas, details, and the author's reasons for writing in these various text types, as well as figuring things out and making conclusions.

    They also work on enriching their vocabulary, which includes learning more challenging words like "Intricacies," "convoluted," or "enigmatic." Engaging in discussions and critical thinking about what they read further prepares them for more advanced reading in later grades.

  • Students will compose complex essays with seamless transitions for natural and coherent flow.

    Mastery of grammar and punctuation is highly refined, enabling them to effectively integrate compelling evidence, including concrete examples and persuasive arguments, to support their points.

    They explore diverse writing styles, fostering creative expression, such as persuasive, informative, and creative writing.

    The focus remains on revision and editing for clarity and impact as they prepare for more challenging writing tasks requiring critical thinking and nuanced expression.

  • Students will master complex sentence structures, demonstrate a sophisticated command of all eight parts of speech, exhibit nuanced language understanding, identify and correct grammatical errors, use advanced punctuation, and employ figurative language and rhetorical devices to enhance their writing and communication skills.

Mathematics

  • Students will be able to solve linear equations and inequalities, as well as exponential functions and quadratic functions. By the end of the school year students will have increased and developed critical thinking, abstract thinking, the ability to solve conflicts and situations and analytical capabilities.

  • Students will be able to obtain information and results from polygons in a coordinate grid.

  • Students will be able to work with gathered information and obtain statistics data from it, being able to make conclusions.

Español

  • Los alumnos aplicarán las reglas gramáticales, mediante el entendimiento de las composiciones silábicas, uso apropiado de acentos, mayúsculas, preposiciones, signos de puntuación, conjugación de verbos irregulares y su concordancia entre adjetivos y sustantivos; advervios y verbos.

Science

  • Students will understand }essential physics concepts while fostering scientific inquiry and critical thinking.

    This includes exploring mechanics (laws of motion and forces), energy (forms, transformations, and conservation), waves and electromagnetism (properties of light, sound, electromagnetic waves), and electric and magnetic phenomena.

    Through hands-on experiments and inquiry, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles governing the physical world, enabling them to analyze and explain natural phenomena confidently.

Social Studies

  • Students will cultivate advanced historical thinking skills and a sophisticated understanding of how historical forces have shaped the modern world. Students will delve into topics such as the Age of Enlightenment, revolutions, industrialization, imperialism, the World Wars, and the post-World War II era. They will analyze the complex interplay of political, economic, social, and cultural factors that have influenced global history. Additionally, students will refine their abilities to evaluate primary and secondary sources critically, conduct research, and construct well-reasoned historical arguments.

SEL

  • Students will be able to identify and understand their emotions. They will learn strategies to deal with stress and with everyday situations, as well as dealing with failure.

    Students will also develop skills such as self-perception, resilience, healthy relationships, setting boundaries, healthy perception of the environment, gratitude, generosity, among others

Project / UN / Finance

  • Students advance their digital citizenship skills, focusing on digital ethics, media literacy, digital leadership, digital resilience, and cybersecurity awareness. They explore advanced ethical considerations, apply critical thinking to evaluate digital media for accuracy and credibility, develop leadership qualities to promote positive online communities, and gain strategies to cope with online adversity. Additionally, they deepen their understanding of cybersecurity threats and solutions.

  • Students delve into intricate sustainability issues, including climate resilience, sustainable urban planning, and global environmental challenges. They engage in in-depth research, critical analysis, and practical projects to explore sustainable solutions and their implications on a local and global scale. Additionally, students develop leadership skills in sustainability advocacy, actively participating in community-based sustainability initiatives and fostering their sense of responsibility as global citizens. This objective aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to address complex sustainability challenges and contribute to a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient world.

  • Students will advance their understanding of global governance, diplomacy, and the multifaceted role of the United Nations in addressing complex global challenges. Students delve into the intricacies of international relations, exploring topics such as international law, peacekeeping, sustainable development goals, and humanitarian crises. They engage in high-level model UN simulations, honing their negotiation and diplomatic skills, and participate in critical discussions about pressing global issues.

Ciencias de la Salud

  • Introducción al desarrollo de la fuerza, resistencia, velocidad y flexibilidad haciendo énfasis en el entrenamiento funcional y entrenamiento de pesas. Desarrollo de las distintas disciplinas deportivas a impartir.

Atelier

  • Expresar y crear trabajos de arte a partir de sus percepciones, sentimientos e ideas generadas desde la observación de manifestaciones estéticas referidas a diversidad cultural, género e íconos sociales, patrimoniales y contemporáneas.

    Crear trabajos visuales a partir de intereses personales, experimentando con materiales y técnicas en dibujo, pintura y escultura.
